UAE retail clients are onboarded by XTB MENA Limited, the DIFC (Dubai) branch of the group. XTB MENA Limited is authorised by the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) under reference F006316, Category 3A, licensed 12 Jul 2021. The demo runs on the same infrastructure as the live account, with the same spreads, execution, and regulatory oversight.

The DIFC branch is onshore and top-tier regulated. No offshore entity is used for UAE clients.

Regulator

The legal entity for UAE clients is XTB MENA Limited, operating inside the Dubai International Financial Centre. The DFSA is the regulator there, and it applies standards broadly aligned with European rules. The firm can be checked directly on the DFSA public register using reference F006316.

  • Regulated by: DFSA, reference F006316
  • Category: 3A, licensed 12 Jul 2021
  • Jurisdiction: DIFC, Dubai
  • Entity type: Onshore, no offshore entity for UAE

The UAE has three financial regulators depending on where a firm is based: the SCA/CMA on the mainland, the DFSA in DIFC, and the FSRA in ADGM. Any firm offering forex or CFD services to the UAE public must hold a local licence from one of these. XTB's DFSA authorisation covers the DIFC route, and the registration number matches the legal entity on the client agreement.

Demo Account Conditions

The demo mirrors the live account structure. Two account types are available: Standard and Pro. Standard is commission-free with spreads built into the price, while Pro offers tighter spreads plus a per-lot commission. Both come with an Islamic swap-free option, and there is no set minimum deposit on the live version.

Practice accounts typically come pre-funded with virtual money. Key numbers carry over from the live environment:

  • Leverage capped at 1:30 on major forex for retail clients under DFSA rules
  • USD/CHF spread around 0.5-0.9 pips on Standard
  • Over 1,900 instruments available
  • No commission on Standard account forex trades

Real stock and ETF investing with 0% commission up to EUR 100k per month is an EEA-only product and is not offered to UAE clients. What can be traded here is CFDs on stocks, ETFs, indices, commodities, forex, and crypto.

Costs and Spreads

The demo shows real-time spreads. On Standard, USD/CHF runs around 0.5-0.9 pips with no commission. The Pro account narrows the spread but adds a commission per lot.

Funding the live account: bank wire, Visa/Mastercard, and local AED bank transfers are typically supported. Deposits are free, and there is no set minimum. Withdrawals under about 100 in USD or EUR carry a small fee of around 10.

Account base currencies are mainly USD, EUR, and GBP. An AED-denominated account was not verified at the time of review.

What the Demo Won't Show You

A demo account does not simulate the emotional weight of real money, and slippage during news events can behave differently in practice. The demo also does not include the deposit and withdrawal process.

XTB has a strong regulatory standing, but carries a legacy caveat. In 2018, the Polish regulator KNF fined XTB for asymmetric execution. That case does not affect the current DFSA-regulated entity.

CAUTION
The UAE tax picture is friendly for individual traders: 0% personal income tax and 0% capital gains tax on trading profits as of the review. If you operate as a business or company, the 9% corporate tax above AED 375,000 may apply. Confirm your status with the Federal Tax Authority.

Live Trading Considerations

DFSA regulation means segregated client funds and a formal complaints process. Leverage at 1:30 is conservative compared to the 1:500-1:1000+ that unregulated firms advertise to UAE residents.

The UAE has no exchange controls and the AED is pegged to the USD at roughly 3.6725. Capital moves in and out freely, and local bank transfers from Emirates NBD, ADCB, or Dubai Islamic Bank typically work without friction.

FYI
Before funding any broker, verify them on the DFSA public register or the SCA/CMA open-data register. The registration number must match the entity named in your client agreement. Regulators in the UAE regularly warn about impersonating firms using cold calls and WhatsApp promotions.

Where this leaves you

The DFSA licence places XTB in the top tier of oversight available in the region, and the onshore DIFC structure means the client agreement is with a locally regulated entity.

A match if:you want a regulated environment with conservative leverage, a well-designed proprietary platform, and the option of MT4. The demo gives both platforms to test, and the swap-free account covers Islamic trading requirements.

A mismatch if:you need real stock investing rather than CFDs, or you expect leverage beyond 1:30. Those who want higher leverage will need to look at less regulated brokers. If your strategy depends on the EEA-only share dealing product, this is not the entity for you.
